Project 6- Progress Review #1

  1. Kareena,

I understand your story through these photos. I think you could've added a few more photos for us to get a total understand of your mother's day. The first photo is good, the lighting, framing, and the subject is clear. It shows the beginning of her day and her yawning and stretching gives you the feeling of the morning. The second photo I like, the mirror gives you the angle of the face you couldn't see otherwise. The lighting in this photo is what throws me off, I know some lighting can be yellowish but I think you could've found a way around it. I also think if you took a step back you could capture more of your mother which would've gave better framing. The third one is my favorite! I think again you could've gotten some better lighting because this photo is dark. Also, the back ground is distracting, the two light and the two door ways. Also the white of the light switch could've been avoided. The fourth one is good framing, I like how you get to see the house which gives you a little insight to your mother and her style. Nothing in the background is distracting but very simple and adds to the photo. I like this topic because I love photographing my parents, they are very special to me. For your project the photo angles are very static, I think you should play around with different angles. I would also add more photos, these could be very simple such as doing laundry, cleaning, going to the grocery, etc. I would keep the first photo but work on re shooting the rest with different angles. I really like the third photo so if you could change the lighting I think this photo would add to the story as a whole. Great job and I look forward to your next set of photos!
